Predictions are in....

I'm about 10 days out from the due date for baby Branch. I'm ready. Or- I will be after I take my two finals tomorrow and Friday. And- if the baby would be so kind as to wait until after I get a much anticipated pedicure on Saturday- that would be simply awesome!

Here are some predictions for the sex, date of delivery and weight of Baby Branch:

Lesa Dec.23/female/7.5 lb
Emily Dec 20/male/8 lb
Leslie Dec 22/female/7.1 lb
Charlie /male/
Courtney Dec 23/female/7 lb
Mammaw /female/
Pawpaw /male/7.8 lb.
Justus Dec. 27th/ girl/ 7.3 lb
Dad: Dec 26th/ girl/
Alisha: Dec 29th/Boy/ 7.8
Byron: Dec. 21st/ girl
Me: Dec 22nd/ Girl/ 7

But- lately I've had two dreams in which it was a boy.

And I always get random guesses when out and about running errands. This week they were....

Walgreens cashier (Indian lady): Boy- because I'm carrying in front
Lenny- my tailor- he's vietnamese: Boy- because when he calls my name- I turn to the left.
Registrar's Office secretary (Guatemalan): Boy- because I'm carrying low
Waitress: from Mexico: Girl- because I have heartburn

We've set up the nursery - mostly (Pics to come soon), and we've purchased/received most of the essentials. I have no idea what I'll actually need when the baby arrives- but I dragged Byron through Babies R Us again tonight for a few reasons:

1. we were across the street getting the car tuned up and we had an hr to kill and gift cards to spent
2. We needed a few last minute items
3. I can't move very fast and needed a buddy to go through that crazy store!
4. - most importantly I wanted Byron to see the prices of some things. Mainly diapers. This way- He will understand why I spend so much more each week at the store!

The trip wasn't super pleasant- the store was packed with people- but it was infinitely better than the first time we set foot in there. It was a little hard to shop with Byron- that isn't exactly his favorite pasttime- but he did spend about 10 minutes reading me the titles/labels on the rectal thermometers and giggling to himself. Sigh. Boys will be boys. We have a little more knowledge under our belts, although barely, but it was enough to keep us from being totally overwhelmed with the gadgets. There is just so much stuff in that store. I have no idea what is actually necessary- but I'm hoping it's a learn as you go type of thing.

All in all- life is good and we are getting ready for this new change. It's a little scary (Ok- a LOT scary) but - I think God sets it up so that you're so uncomfortable by the time the baby is due- that you'd rather take on any adventure than be pregnant for one more week. I'm not miserable- but I'm getting uncomfortable. I'm also just SUPER excited to meet this little person that kicks me and hiccups all day long:)
